  • Nasdaq-listed Webus International has partnered with Air China to provide travel services and integrate XRP payments for the airline’s 60 million PhoenixMiles loyalty program members.
  • The XRP integration, which is subject to regulatory clearance, is intended to enable faster settlements, tokenised rewards, and blockchain-based vouchers within the travel ecosystem.
  • The partnership aligns with Webus’s broader strategy to build a “Ripple-integrated travel ecosystem,” a plan that is being backed by a recent US$100 million funding deal.

Webus International Limited, listed on Nasdaq, has entered into a strategic partnership with Air China to provide airport transfers and premium chauffeur services to members of PhoenixMiles, the airline’s loyalty program with more than 60 million users worldwide, delivered through Webus’ Wetour travel brand.

Webus said it will integrate XRP payments into Wetour’s overseas platform. The rollout is intended to enable faster settlement, tokenised rewards, and blockchain-based vouchers tied to membership benefits, pending regulatory clearance.

As Crypto News Australia reported, the company recently secured up to US$100M (AU$155M) in funding via a senior equity line of credit to back its XRP treasury strategy.

Pushing a Ripple-Linked Travel Ecosystem

Further, Webus chief executive Nan Zheng said the partnership extends Wetour’s global presence while pushing forward plans to create an ecosystem powered by Ripple.

This collaboration with Air China, with the potential to reach more than 60 million members and passengers, not only expands Wetour’s global service footprint but also accelerates our vision of building a Ripple-integrated travel ecosystem.

In June, Webus filed with the US SEC for approval of a potential US$300M (AU$465M) XRP treasury investment, to be funded through a mix of cash, loans, and credit facilities. The company’s broader strategy centers on embedding XRP into payments and loyalty programs across its travel services.

Webus shares are currently trading at US$2.33 (AU$3.57), a 35% increase in the last month, according to Google Finance data.
