- Attendees at Trump’s crypto dinner have reported being left underwhelmed by the experience and complaining of a lack of access to the President, cheap food and bad company.
- Protestors gathered outside the venue to protest what they saw as blatant corruption, by requiring attendees to buy large quantities of Trump’s personal memecoin to receive a ticket.
It was billed as a glamorous, lavish and exclusive evening where the crème-de-la-crème of $TRUMP shitcoin holders could wine and dine with The Donald himself.
The few who qualified to attend Trump’s crypto dinner at his National Golf Club in Washington DC may have had visions of wheeling and dealing with the US President, learning some tips from the master deal artist, and perhaps even partnering with the great orange crypto titan on his next shitcoin project.
But alas, it was not to be.
According to Nicholas Pinto, a social media influencer who attended the dinner, like so much else Trump’s been involved with over the years the dinner was “false advertising”. Speaking to Decrypt, Pinto explained:
I don’t think anyone even got a photo or autograph. Every attendee was accessible. Except the most desired one: Donald J. Trump.

For most of the attendees the only interaction they got with Trump was watching him deliver a short four-minute speech. The VIPs were treated to a longer 23-minute speech in a private area. In all, Trump was reportedly only present at the venue for around an hour.
The way Pinto tells it, the event was a dud, nobody really got access to Trump and even the meal itself was pretty average — consisting of cheap, overcooked steak and vegetables.
“Man, it was cheap steak that was overcooked,” he said. “We were under the impression that we’d ‘dine’ with the 47th president! We were lied to and used like puppets.”
I know what you’re thinking: ‘Surely though the company of the other attendees was great, all those cashed up crypto bros in one room, what could be lovelier?’
On this point Pinto firmly disagrees. “Everyone there was sketchy, faceless people. Anytime I took pics they would move their heads or use [their] hands to block [their] face,” he told Decrypt.
Attendees also received a ‘goodie bag’ containing various Trump-themed trinkets, including a Trump coin hat and a poster.

VIPs Got A longer Speech, So There’s That
The attendees at the dinner were split into two groups: the main group of 195 attendees and a super elite group of 25 VIPs, each of whom bought an average of US$4.8 million worth of $TRUMP for the privilege.
Unfortunately for these VIPs, their experience of the dinner wasn’t substantially better than the normies.
One perk they did receive was a longer private speech delivered in a separate room. Trump apparently discussed “how resilient crypto prices had been during the tariff tantrum in the markets and noted how it was soaring,” according to Jeff Zirlin, co-founder of Axie Infinity.
A video posted to X / Twitter of the speech showed Trump being introduced by his business partner, Bill Zanker, as the “next president of the United States: Number 45. Number 47. And, number 48!” This implies Trump will somehow be elected for a third term — something which is disallowed under the 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution.
Dinner Attracts Protestors Citing Corruption Concerns
Bloomberg reported that arriving dinner guests had to run a gauntlet of protesters, including some US Senators and ex-political staffers, who’d gathered outside the venue. The protestors aimed to draw attention to what they say is the blatant corruption of Trump’s crypto dinner.
Democratic Senator Jeff Merkley, who was involved in the protest, told NBC News “the spirit of the Constitution was that no one elected would be selling influence to anyone.”
Former Treasury Department official, Ken Papaj, shared a similar critique: “every time there’s a transaction, he gets a transaction fee? Just unconscionable what he’s doing.”
He’s using the presidency to make himself and his family richer. It’s just not right for that to be happening in our country.

Just prior to the dinner, Democrat Congresswoman, Rep. Maxine Waters, introduced the ‘Stop Trump in Crypto Act of 2025’. The legislation specifically targets Trump and his family by seeking to prevent senior government officials from launching and owning their own crypto assets while holding public office.
In a statement released just before Trump crypto dinner Rep. Water said “Donald Trump is preparing to dine with the top donors of his memecoin who’ve made him, and his family, richer. For all we know, Russia, China, or even North Korea could be buying Trump’s crypto to secure favors from the White House.”
