Top US Crypto Exchange Coinbase Lists Eight Altcoins for Custody Support As Markets Stumble

Coinbase is expanding its crypto footprint by extending custodial services support to over half a dozen new altcoins.

In a new tweet, the US-based cryptocurrency exchange says it’s adding eight new cryptos to its roster of 150+ assets that are part of the Coinbase Custody cold storage trust.

Coinbase Custody now supports deposits and withdrawals for $API3, $BLZ, $GODS, $IDEX, $MDT, $GALA, $POWR, and $SPELL.

Coinbase Custody is a custodial service for institutional investors with big money. It’s chartered in New York State and designed to give clients a highly secure way to store large amounts of cryptocurrency.

First getting the nod from Coinbase is decentralized storage network Bluzelle (BLZ), which was designed to meet the needs of gamers as the online gaming world incorporates crypto assets and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

BLZ is currently trading sideways at $0.14.

The Ethereum-based token API3 (API3) powers a protocol focused on improving traditional application programming interface (API) technology for the Web 3.0 economy. The native token governs the API3 DAO, or decentralized autonomous organization.

API3 is down a percent to $4.60 at time of writing.

Gods Unchained (GODS) is a trading card game built on the Ethereum blockchain. The game enables users to earn money from their in-game purchases. GODS is currently down 1.73% to $1.04.

IDEX (IDEX) is a multi-blockchain decentralized exchange offering a non-custodial solution for trading digital assets. The IDEX token is used to secure the network and incentivize platform adoption.

IDEX finds itself down a fraction on the day at $0.14.

Also joining the Coinbase cold wallet roster is Measurable Data Token (MDT). The project was built to facilitate the anonymous sharing and monetizing of consumer data.

At time of writing, Measurable Data Token is down 1.69% to $0.045.

Next up is play-to-earn blockchain gaming platform Gala Games (GALA). The altcoin is down a percent and trading for $0.22.

Also added to the Coinbase Custody slate is peer-to-peer energy trading venture Power Ledger (POWR), whose native asset POWR is up 0.64% and changing hands for $0.51.

Last on the list is Spell Token (SPELL), the Abracadabra.money platform governance token. The platform allows users to deposit interest-bearing crypto assets to mint the stablecoin Magic Internet Money (MIM).

Spell Token is trading flat at $0.0035.
