Sui Bridge, a native protocol designed for seamless and secure transfers of assets and data between Ethereum and Sui, has officially launched on Testnet. According to The Sui Blog, the bridge supports transferring ETH, wBTC, USDC, and USDT, leveraging the security and speed of the Sui network.

Importance of Native Bridges

Native bridges like Sui Bridge are integral to a thriving DeFi ecosystem. They facilitate interoperability between blockchains, enhancing liquidity and expanding the utility of digital assets. Unlike third-party bridges, Sui Bridge uses the Sui blockchain’s inherent security infrastructure, ensuring that all bridging actions are protected by robust mechanisms.

Incentive Program Details

To commemorate the launch, an incentive program has been introduced to encourage user interaction and bug reporting. Participants can earn rewards by extensively testing the bridge’s frontend, smart contracts, bridge nodes, and user interface. A total of 100,000 SUI will be distributed to addresses that contribute to the testing process.

How to Participate

Users can participate by interacting with the Sui Bridge web interface on Testnet and completing the transaction flow, including claiming assets on the other side. It’s important to use the bridge through the web interface to be eligible for rewards. Other eligibility requirements can be found in the applicable terms of service.

Participants are encouraged to explore the entire bridge flow and report any issues they encounter. High-quality feedback, including a video clip and transaction hash, is crucial for reproducing and addressing bugs. Moderators will review submitted reports, and rewards will be allocated based on the genuineness and quality of the feedback.

Bug Bounty Program

Alongside the Testnet incentive program, the Sui bug bounty program has been expanded to include Sui Bridge. The community is invited to help identify and fix potential bugs, from critical vulnerabilities to medium-level risks. Contributions to ensuring the security and reliability of Sui Bridge are highly valued.

Testing Guide

The Sui Bridge web interface currently supports the Sui Testnet and Ethereum Sepolia Testnet. Users need to request Testnet tokens from network-specific faucets. Various faucets are available for both Sepolia and Sui Testnets, such as the Google Cloud Ethereum Sepolia Testnet faucet and the Sui Wallet faucet.

Here are the steps to bridge an asset from Ethereum Sepolia to Sui Testnet and back:

  1. Visit the Sui Bridge Testnet web interface.
  2. Connect both an Ethereum and Sui wallet. Alternatively, manually enter the destination address.
  3. Obtain test coins from a faucet or token contracts for native Sepolia Ethereum, Wrapped ETH, WBTC, USDC, or USDT.
  4. Bridge tokens from Ethereum Sepolia to Sui Testnet by selecting a token, entering the amount, and approving the transaction. Transfers may take around 10 minutes to finalize due to Ethereum’s probabilistic finality.
  5. For bridging from Sui Testnet to Ethereum Sepolia, switch the direction in the form, select the assets, and submit the transaction. Use the “Claim” button on the interface to finalize the process.

By participating in the Sui Bridge Testnet, users will not only help improve the bridge’s security and efficiency but also experience a smooth transition when it goes live on Mainnet. The community’s engagement and feedback are highly anticipated.
