OKX Ventures invests in USUAL, a decentralized stablecoin protocol integrating Real-World Assets, enhancing DeFi with governance and ownership features.

OKX Ventures, the investment division of the leading cryptocurrency exchange OKX, has announced its investment in USUAL, a decentralized stablecoin issuer. This strategic move aligns with OKX Ventures’ mission to foster projects that converge traditional finance with decentralized finance (DeFi) while championing true decentralization, according to OKX Ventures.

Revolutionizing Stablecoin Issuance with USUAL

USUAL differentiates itself in the stablecoin market through its integration of Real-World Assets (RWAs) and decentralized governance. The protocol’s flagship product, USD0, is a decentralized stablecoin fully backed by tokenized RWAs, such as U.S. Treasury Bills (T-Bills), managed in a decentralized and permissionless manner. This approach aims to create a new paradigm in stablecoin liquidity and value distribution.

The native token, $USUAL, serves dual purposes of ownership and governance, allowing users to engage actively in the protocol’s decision-making processes and share in its financial success.

Empowering Users Through Governance

USUAL is pioneering a model of value redistribution that distinguishes it from traditional stablecoin issuers like Tether (USDT) and Circle (USDC). Instead of centralizing profits within a company, USUAL shares value with its users and token holders. By holding $USUAL, users gain co-ownership of the protocol, enabling them to influence its governance and reap financial benefits.

This decentralized governance approach fosters community-driven decision-making, ensuring a more equitable and transparent framework. Users are not only stakeholders in growth but also active participants in the protocol’s evolution, which contributes to the long-term sustainability and success of the network.

Integration of Real-World Assets (RWAs)

Addressing a critical challenge in the DeFi ecosystem, USUAL bridges traditional financial assets with decentralized systems. Collaborations with industry leaders such as Hashnote and BlackRock allow USUAL to leverage RWAs like U.S. Treasury Bills, bolstering the stability and security of USD0.

Furthermore, partnerships with DeFi platforms including Curve, Pendle, Morpho, and Ether.fi enable USUAL to offer optimized yield strategies and robust liquidity solutions. This innovative tokenization of RWAs into composable, on-chain verifiable instruments makes traditional financial products accessible within the DeFi landscape.

By merging institutional-grade assets with advanced DeFi protocols, USUAL enhances the stability and utility of its ecosystem, fostering a more inclusive and resilient financial environment.
