Ledger Live now integrates SUI and Sui tokens, offering Ledger users enhanced self-custody options with features like Clear Signing and expanded access to the Sui ecosystem.
Ledger, a leader in digital asset security, has announced a significant development for its users. The company has integrated support for SUI and Sui tokens within its Ledger Live platform, enhancing the self-custody experience for millions of users. This integration, unveiled on April 9, 2025, marks a pivotal advancement in making the Sui ecosystem more accessible to a broader audience, according to a statement from the Sui Foundation.
Enhanced Features with Ledger Live
With this integration, Ledger Live users can now securely buy, send, and receive SUI and Sui tokens directly through the platform. This move is set to expand further with swap and staking support slated for later this year. The integration is a strategic effort to capitalize on Ledger’s security prowess, which currently secures 20% of the total crypto market cap.
Users of Ledger Live will benefit from several key features:
- Clear Signing: This feature allows users to engage in human-readable transactions, enhancing security by reducing the risks associated with blind signing.
- Increased Ecosystem Access: Beyond just SUI, Ledger Live facilitates easy access to various Sui tokens.
- Deeper Feature Support: Upcoming features such as token swaps and staking will enable users to maximize their engagement with the Sui ecosystem.
- Superior Self-Custody: Ledger’s devices protect private keys from online threats and support multi-signature security, ensuring full self-custody without third-party reliance.
Strategic Partnerships and Future Plans
Ian Rogers, Chief Experience Officer at Ledger, highlighted the company’s mission to provide unparalleled user experience and security. He emphasized the collaboration with Sui, stating, “Millions of Ledger customers can now access more of Sui’s fast and scalable network.” Christian Thomson, Managing Director at Sui Foundation, also praised the integration as a crucial step in expanding global access to the Sui ecosystem.
The rollout of Ledger Live’s new functionalities will occur in phases, beginning with core features and gradually incorporating additional capabilities. This phased approach will allow users to fully engage with Sui’s expanding DeFi ecosystem while maintaining control over their assets.
This development builds on Sui’s existing commitment to security and seamless blockchain interactions. Features like zkLogin and multi-signature wallets underscore this dedication. As adoption grows, Ledger and Sui plan to continue enhancing their joint offerings to meet the evolving needs of their user base.
