The new DaVinci Resolve 20 beta leverages NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs to accelerate AI features, enhancing video editing efficiency and quality.

NVIDIA’s latest release of DaVinci Resolve Studio 20 beta is set to redefine video editing with the integration of GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, according to NVIDIA’s official blog. This release aims to enhance AI capabilities, thereby improving performance and streamlining creative workflows for video editors.

AI-Driven Enhancements

DaVinci Resolve Studio 20 beta introduces over 100 new features, including AI-powered tools designed to expedite video editing tasks. The integration of NVIDIA TensorRT software significantly boosts the efficiency of AI features, optimizing creative workloads. Notably, the UltraNR Noise Reduction feature, which reduces digital noise in video, operates up to 75% faster on the GeForce RTX 5090 GPU compared to previous models.

Advanced Video Features

The software also incorporates AI IntelliScript, which automates timeline creation based on project scripts, and AI Animated Subtitles, which synchronizes text with spoken words. Additionally, AI Multicam Smartswitch intelligently selects camera angles, enhancing editing precision and speed.

FLUX.1-dev NIM Microservice

Alongside DaVinci Resolve 20, NVIDIA has unveiled the FLUX.1-dev NIM microservice, a generative AI model that transforms text prompts into high-quality visuals. This service is optimized for NVIDIA RTX GPUs, delivering up to 2x performance improvements and reducing memory requirements by 60% compared to previous models.

Enhanced Color and Encoding Capabilities

The DaVinci Resolve Studio 20 beta supports 4:2:2 color formats and AV1 ultra-high-quality encoding. This advancement provides video editors with improved color grading accuracy and flexibility during color correction. The software also benefits from hardware-accelerated encoding and decoding on GeForce RTX 50 Series and RTX PRO GPUs.

Users can expect a 5% improvement in video quality on HEVC and AV1 encoding, with the new Ultra High Quality mode enhancing this by an additional 5%. The software’s three-way split-frame encoding significantly boosts encoding speeds, making it over 37% faster than previous generations.

For those interested in exploring these new features, the DaVinci Resolve Studio 20 beta is available for download at no charge for existing customers. More information can be found on the NVIDIA blog.
