ETF Guru Forecasts 2025 Market Trends for XRP, Solana and More

While all of the predictions are interesting – especially if you are holding or are planning to invest in the iShares Core S&P 500 ETF or the Vanguard S&P 500 ETF, which could see a fee reduction – it’s really the second point that will make any crypto degen’s mouth water. 

The “Year of Crypto ETFs”

2024 saw Spot Bitcoin and Spot Ethereum fund approvals but that could be topped by a whole bunch of altcoin funds in 2025, according to Geraci.

That’s because Trump’s inauguration is around the corner and this likely means there will “be a markedly different approach to crypto by the Trump administration than what we witnessed under the Biden administration”.

Crypto-friendly Paul Atkins is set to succeed Gary Gensler as SEC Chair.  There will now be a “crypto czar”, a role which will be filled by Silicon Valley veteran David Sacks.  A crypto advisory council is being established underneath Sacks, with industry executives helping to shape the administration’s policies towards digital assets.

Geraci said that while Gensler always referred to crypto as the “Wild West”, with the incoming Trump administration, “that is exactly what we’ll get from an ETF perspective”. 

Geraci’s 10 Crypto ETF Predictions

Without further ado, here’s what the ETF guru believes could happen in 2025.

1. Geraci predicts that spot Bitcoin funds will surpass the asset size of traditional physical gold funds.
2. There’s anticipated approval for options trading on Ethereum ETFs which would offer investors more flexibility in their investment strategies.
3. Regulatory changes might enable in-kind creation and redemption mechanisms for these ETFs, enhancing efficiency in how these funds are managed and operated.
4. New types of Ethereum ETFs are expected to be introduced, featuring staking options.
5. Bitwise plans to launch an innovative ETF named the Bitcoin Standard Corporations ETF, focusing on companies holding significant Bitcoin assets.
6. The market might see at least 50 new crypto-related ETFs soon, including those based on options and Bitcoin bonds.
7. A spot Solana which would directly hold Solana is awaiting regulatory approval.
8. Likewise, there’s a pending ETF approval for XRP.
9. Companies like Bitwise and Grayscale are likely to receive approvals for ETFs that track a crypto index.
10. Vanguard (a more conservative actor) may soon provide brokerage access to spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs.
