- Bitcoin 2024 is one of the industry’s most-attended conferences, with previous years seeing over 30k attendees.
- That number is set to spike this year after the conference reeled in one of the biggest names in the world as a speaker – Republican candidate Donald Trump.
- Trump has steadily transitioned into a pro-crypto politician, despite years of statements to the contrary.
Go back 12 months. Imagine there was a major Bitcoin conference to be held with an array of high-profile guest speakers. Who would be the first to come to mind? Names like Michael Saylor, Vitalik Buterin and even Elon Musk are immediate thoughts.
In a list of “absolutely no chance” you’d include well-known crypto haters like Jim Cramer, Charlie Munger and Donald Trump.
Wow, have times changed.
Donald Trump has backflipped on his Bitcoin stance as he fights for presidential candidacy in 2024, becoming the political spokesperson for digital currency from seemingly nowhere. His pro-crypto policy is largely a ploy to attract a demographic of swing voters to his side – but he’s taken his support to extremes nobody could see coming.

Trump to Deliver Thirty-Minute Speech to Kick Off Event
The Former US president is set to be a keynote speaker at Bitcoin 2024, one of the industry’s biggest conferences. The event is set to take place in Nashville on July 27th, where Trump will address scores of crypto fans and developers in what will no doubt be a widely-publicised half-an-hour speech.
Trump’s support for crypto has shifted from tentative at the start of the year (where he announced he could “live with” Bitcoin) to a full-blown love affair with the community. As his campaign ramped up, the presidential candidate began accepting donations in digital assets, before eventually declaring himself as the “crypto president”.
Even more recently, Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social that he aims to ensure all BTC are “MADE IN THE USA!!!”. (Yes, that is the correct number of exclamation marks used in the post).

His appearance at the Bitcoin 2024 conference is set to cement his position as the good guy of crypto, even as his Democratic opposition attempts to shed their image as the anti-crypto party.
Whether Trump is truly a believer in Bitcoin, or it’s all just a political ploy to win votes, there’s no doubt the crypto market will be heavily influenced by the outcome of the 2024 US election.
