- Logan Paul’s lawsuit against Youtuber ‘Coffeezilla’, also known as Stephen Findeisen, is to proceed after a request to dismiss it.
- The lawsuit relates to Findeisen’s comments regarding Paul’s ‘CryptoZoo’ project, which Findeisen alleged to be a scam.
- Paul has taken these remarks in a manner which caused him to sue CryptoZoo for defamation.
- There are already existing lawsuits relating to Paul and the CryptoZoo project.
Details have emerged regarding the court case involving well-known influencer Logan Paul and his CryptoZoo project. Paul had filed a lawsuit against Findeisen for defamation, Findeisen filed a motion to have the case dismissed.
What the Judge Said
The judge denied Findeisen’s motion to dismiss Paul’s claims. Findeisen’s motion had asserted that the alleged libelous statements were not capable of defaming Paul.
Texas Judge Bemporad disagreed with this assertion, at least without going through further due process, noting the word ‘scam’ met the definition of defamation.
Furthermore, the judge mentioned that Findeisen’s role as a crypto investigator could mean that an ‘objectively reasonable reader’ would understand his statements to be facts. Both parties have the right to file an objection to Bemporad’s report within 14 days.
Note, this was just a motion to dismiss the case which was denied, the court case itself has yet to occur and have a judgement passed one way or another.

What is CryptoZoo
CryptoZoo was a project founded by Logan Paul that was allegedly intended to be a blockchain game, where players can purchase NFTs which can then combine to create rare animals. The rarity of the animal would be associated with an amount of tokens which could be earned.
However, Paul’s game which hasn’t materialised, was alleged to be a scam by many involved in or observing the project.
Context for the Case
It’s worth noting that Paul did not initially sue Findeisen over his early videos alleging the project to be a scam (though he threatened to do so). Paul instead ended up apologising and declaring that he would come up with a plan for CryptoZoo.
One year later Paul created a website where claimants could claim refunds totalling US$2.3 million (AU$3.69 million) with an agreement to not sue the project.
Despite this, Findeisen is not the only individual to bring claims against Paul for his alleged scam project CryptoZoo. In 2023 a lawsuit was filed against Paul by a number of CryptoZoo investors alleging the project to be a scam. Paul has asked for the case to be thrown out.
Paul has also filed a lawsuit against two other individuals involved in contributing towards the project as parties responsible for ‘defrauding us all’.
