Since Bitcoin briefly set a fresh record high of $126,080 on October 6, the leading cryptocurrency has slid into a persistent decline. That downturn bottomed yesterday when BTC momentarily touched a 6-month low of $89,369.
Seasoned market watchers aren’t sounding alarms. Many see the pullback as a constructive reset, one that flushes excessive leverage, removes speculative excess, and lays the groundwork for a more durable uptrend later in the cycle.
Yet a new narrative is also taking shape: Bitcoin, long viewed as crypto’s premier “store of value,” may not be the primary driver of the next major bull phase. Several altcoins are strategically positioned for institutional use cases.
