Today, the northern neighbor of Ukraine, Belarus, invaded Ukraine, with the Belarus troops entering the Chernihiv region, north of the capital Kyiv, the Ukrainian parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, said.
“Belarusian troops have entered Chernihiv region. The information was confirmed to the public by Vitaliy Kyrylov, spokesman for the North Territorial Defense Forces. More details later,” the tweet said.
According to UNIAN, a column of 33 units entered the region and is trying to block mobile communications.
Belarus has already been participating in Russia’s war against Ukraine by providing its territory for the Russian army.
Earlier today, the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko said that Belarus is not participating in the conflict and is not planning to do so, per TASS.
