Animoca Brands has made a strategic investment in Igloo, Inc., aiming to bolster consumer crypto initiatives and the growth of its NFT-based intellectual property, Pudgy Penguins.
Animoca Brands, a prominent player in the blockchain and digital rights space, has announced a strategic investment in Igloo, Inc., the parent company of the NFT-based intellectual property, Pudgy Penguins. This investment is executed through a Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE), according to Animoca Brands.
Strategic Move in Consumer Crypto
The investment underscores Animoca Brands’ confidence in the transformative potential of consumer crypto and the expanding market for NFT-based intellectual properties. Pudgy Penguins, under the leadership of CEO Luca Schnetzler, has been pioneering in bridging Web3 intellectual property into tangible consumer products. This move aligns with Animoca Brands’ mission to empower intellectual property rights within the NFT and gaming sectors.
Partnership with Igloo, Inc.
Igloo, Inc., which also houses Cube Labs, has recently embarked on a strategic initiative to enhance Abstract, an Ethereum Layer 2 network. This network is designed to provide a scalable, secure, and consumer-centric platform for crypto applications. The collaboration aims to optimize user experiences and foster a cohesive ecosystem for consumer crypto applications.

Animoca Brands’ investment is expected to facilitate community engagement and collaboration between Abstract and Animoca’s Mocaverse, a network facilitating Web3 onboarding.
