One of the key figures in this educational revolution is Virginia Chagas, a dedicated teacher within Rio de Janeiro’s public school system. With a passion for technology, Chagas is a strong advocate for using AI as a tool to promote empathy and dialogue among students. Her innovative approach includes encouraging students to create AI-generated posters that carry messages of respect and unity.
Chagas’s efforts extend beyond the classroom as she collaborates with various educational initiatives that connect schools, teachers, and the Municipal Department of Education, thereby contributing to teacher training and educational project development.
Challenges and Collaboration
Managing a vast network of about 140 schools and 65,000 students in her district, Chagas faces numerous administrative challenges daily. She collaborates with Nova Escola, a nonprofit organization under ConectAI, which provides professional development and AI-focused courses.
