Bitfinex Integrates USDT0 on Plasma Network for Enhanced Stablecoin Transactions

Bitfinex, a leading digital asset trading platform, has announced the availability of deposits and withdrawals for USDT0 on the Plasma network, effective September 26, 2025. This development marks an expansion of Bitfinex’s support for the cross-chain stablecoin, enhancing its utility across various blockchain networks.

The Role of USDT0 in Digital Transactions

USDT0, an omnichain-ready version of Tether’s USDt, is designed to facilitate seamless stablecoin transactions across different blockchain ecosystems. The integration with Plasma, which utilizes the PlasmaBFT architecture, is part of Bitfinex’s strategy to provide scalable and cost-efficient stablecoin transactions, aiming to meet growing customer demand.

Plasma is recognized for its focus on stablecoin payments, described as “purpose-built for stablecoin payments” during its initial integration with USDT0 earlier this year. The network joins other supported platforms such as Optimism, Ink, and Arbitrum, offering Bitfinex users the ability to convert their USDt balances into USDT0 and transfer them to supported chains.

Expanding Blockchain Interoperability

USDT0 is managed by the USDT0 Consortium, leveraging LayerZero’s OFT standard to expand stablecoin utility. This integration is expected to enhance interoperability across blockchains, positioning USDT0 as a pivotal component in the global digital asset economy.
