IOTA Launches Business Innovation Program to Boost Mainnet Applications

The IOTA Foundation has unveiled its latest initiative, the IOTA Business Innovation Program, aimed at fostering the development of real-world solutions on the soon-to-be-launched IOTA Rebased Mainnet. This program, spearheaded by the Product Adoption Department, offers businesses up to €100,000 in funding, along with technical, marketing, and strategic support, according to the IOTA Foundation Blog.

The program is designed to attract businesses at any stage of development, focusing on applications that address tangible challenges in areas such as tokenization, decentralized identities, and supply chain tracking. Successful applicants will work closely with the IOTA Foundation to set milestones before deploying their solutions on the upgraded Mainnet.

IOTA envisions public, permissionless Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) as a transformative tool for addressing real-world issues. The upcoming IOTA Rebased upgrade is set to enhance the Mainnet’s functionality, stability, and scalability, enabling innovators to tackle challenges like privacy and regulatory compliance more effectively.

Projects applying to the IOTA Business Innovation Program must demonstrate measurable activity on the IOTA Mainnet, showcasing their technical and domain expertise. The program particularly seeks solutions that create on-chain assets linked to real-world counterparts, emphasizing tangible impact.

Examples of potential applications include supply chain tracking, digital product passports, identity management, data integrity, and the tokenization of real-world assets. The program excludes projects focused on speculative tokens or financial mechanisms without real-world integration.

In addition to financial backing, the program provides access to core protocol features, SDKs, documentation, consulting, and marketing resources. This support aims to empower projects to leverage the IOTA Rebased Mainnet effectively, maximizing their impact and ensuring sustainable growth.

Businesses interested in participating must submit a proposal outlining their objectives and alignment with IOTA’s mission. The application process includes an initial meeting, a detailed pitch presentation, and a due diligence form. Successful applicants will collaborate with IOTA to define clear milestones and commence building on the Mainnet.
