Sui Bridge goes live on Mainnet, enabling native asset transfers between Ethereum and Sui, enhancing Web3 interoperability.

The Sui Bridge has officially launched on Mainnet, establishing a native connection between Ethereum and Sui, according to The Sui Blog. This development marks a significant milestone in Web3 interoperability by facilitating seamless asset transfers between these two prominent ecosystems.

The Sui Bridge aims to break down barriers in the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector by allowing assets and data to move freely across different networks. Utilizing Sui’s unique object-oriented architecture and programmable transaction blocks, the bridge enhances interoperability within its ecosystem.

Sui Bridge Assets

Currently, Sui Bridge supports the transfer of ETH and WETH between Ethereum and Sui. This focused approach ensures a stable and secure user experience. Users should note that ETH transferred via Sui Bridge is distinct from ETH transferred via other bridges like Wormhole. To streamline the user experience, applications on Sui will update to accurately reflect these different asset versions.

In the coming weeks, liquidity from WETH-USDC pools will begin migrating to the ETH-USDC pool, further integrating the assets within Sui’s ecosystem. Future updates are expected to expand support for additional assets and functionalities.

How to Use Sui Bridge

Transferring tokens using the Sui Bridge web interface is straightforward:

  1. Visit the Sui Bridge web interface.
  2. Connect both an Ethereum and Sui wallet. Alternatively, you can manually enter the destination address.
  3. Select a token, enter the amount, and approve the transaction. The interface may require token allowance approval.
  4. After confirming the transaction, you will be redirected to a page displaying the transaction details. Transfers from Ethereum to Sui typically take around 10 minutes to finalize.

Upon Ethereum finalization, bridged tokens are usually sent directly to the recipient’s address on Sui. However, in some instances, a manual claim may be necessary.

Looking Ahead

The launch of Sui Bridge on Mainnet is just the beginning of Sui’s broader vision for interoperability. Future updates will introduce additional asset support and unique functionalities to accommodate a wider range of use cases.

Stay tuned for more updates as Sui continues to enhance its interoperability solutions, building on the foundation laid by the Sui Bridge.
