- During a private event at Bitcoin 2024, Carlson shared the stage with Donald Trump Jr. to discuss several topics, including politics, money, and cryptocurrency.
- The author joked about the identity behind Satoshi Nakamoto, stating that “obviously it was the CIA” who created Bitcoin.
- Ultimately, Carlson believes it doesn’t matter who did – BTC is still a great idea, he said.
American journalist and political commentator Tucker Carlson had some interesting takes on Bitcoin (BTC), stating that he “loves it” but believes the CIA created it or had some involvement in the process.
Carlson spoke about several trending subjects during a private event on Friday at Bitcoin 2024, including the assassination attempt made on Donald Trump and the crypto market and its community.

A Great Idea
The former FOX News presenter said crypto users are quite intellectual and can “answer any question” except the identity behind Satoshi Nakamoto.
“Obviously, it was the CIA, we all know that. But it doesn’t matter if it was the CIA. The idea is still a great idea”, he said between laughs.
The author’s claims were shared by controversial conspiracy theorist David Icke on X, who apparently missed the point of what Carlson was saying. One user, Adam O, stated that Bitcoin is an open-source and auditable project, responding to Icke’s comments, who said, “there might be more to know”.
You haven’t taken the time to do so yourself — so for you, yes, there’s ‘more to know. But that’s just your personal ignorance, not something secret and special.”

In other words, as Carlson highlighted, it doesn’t matter who’s behind Bitcoin. The code and ledger are 100% transparent, as Saifedean Ammous, author of The Bitcoin Standard, stated:
Bitcoin is software you can read and audit yourself. There is nothing more to it than the software you read and it’s been read by thousands for fifteen years.
A History-Transforming Technology
Likewise, Carlson highlighted the importance of Bitcoin and its underlying blockchain network, calling it a “history-transforming technology”.

However, the writer also commented on the hurdles of adoption, saying that BTC needs to live up to its potential by overcoming certain issues, like low throughput and scalability. Moreover, there needs to be higher education on Bitcoin in order to convince the general population to accept it as a legitimate asset.
If you can find a way to solve those problems, I’d liquidate and put every bit into Bitcoin, I mean it. “I think it holds the key to keeping alive the country that I grew up in.
