A cryptocurrency that aims to boost the Web3 economy is exploding after a surprise partnership announcement with tech giant Microsoft.
Blockchain infrastructure project Ankr Network (ANKR) has rallied by 80% in the last 24 hours on the heels of a big announcement to partner with Microsoft to offer enterprise node services.
“Microsoft is now in collaboration with Ankr for our expertise in providing infrastructure solutions that connect builders, applications, and users to the newest layer of the internet – Web3.”
According to the announcement, the partnership will allow enterprises to easily connect to blockchain data through node-hosting services. The goal is to make the services available through the Microsoft Azure marketplace. Services will allow customers to launch enterprise-grade blockchain nodes, optimize data querying, and track node performance.
The partnership is described as a pairing of Ankr’s blockchain infrastructure innovations with Microsoft’s cloud services.
Says Rashmi Misra, Microsoft General Manager AI & Emerging Technologies, of the partnership,
“Many developers and organizations are exploring how Web3 can help solve real-world business challenges, and our partnership with Ankr will enable them to access blockchain data in a reliable, scalable, and secure way. Together with Ankr, we are building a strong Web3 infrastructure layer whether you’re a developer building the next big decentralized application (DApp) or an established enterprise exploring Web3.”
Says Ankr CEO and co-founder Chandler Song,
“This was a critical step in bringing blockchain infrastructure to a growing sector of the digital economy. The partnership, while an incredible milestone for Ankr, is also a key indicator of how far the decentralized web has come in integrating with the crucial players in every layer of web systems. The end result will be an era of extremely prolific building for blockchain-based applications from new Web3 projects as well as large enterprises entering the space.”
ANKR is worth $0.053 at time of writing, up 54% on the day and up 83% over the last two weeks. According to the blockchain project’s website, Ankr Network’s goal is to make Web3 accessible to everyone.
